Flora and Fauna Art Show Art show and sale to raise funds for COTERC (Canadian Organization for Tropical Rainforest Education) will be on Saturday June 14, 2008 from 7:30 to 10:00 pm. It will be held at Reptilia (a reptile zoo and shop) which is located at 2501 Rutherford Road in Vaughan. In conjunction with the Mill Pond Splash Environmental Event at the Mill Pond Park, there will be an exciting art show presented by Valerie Kent's adult art students called the Mill Pond Splash Environmental Art Show and Sale at the Mill Pond Gallery, 314 Mill Street in Richmond Hill, which will feature both watercolour and oil florals and landscapes. These works have all been done within the past year. There is a lot to choose from. COTERC (Canadian Organization for Tropical Rainforest Education and Conservation) is presenting an art show and sale to raise funds for their work in Costa Rica, particularly at the research station, Cao Palma. The show, Flora and Fauna implies the nature-based art that will be presented, is to be held on June 14, 2008 from 7 PM to 10 PM. COTERC has invited Valerie Kent to be a featured artist along with others who have generously supported their work over the years.

Reptilia has generously offered their facility to host Flora and Fauna. It will provide a wonderful venue to showcase nature-related art of all types including sculpture and photography. The York Region Epilepsy Association has produced 6000 cards of Valerie Kent's Glads 3, a watercolour painting of 3 gladioli on the front, blank inside as part of their fundraising efforts. These are available at epilepsy@eol.ca.
